About WallDecorOptions.com

What is WallDecorOptions.com about? Simply put,

I help you find beautiful wall décor

Birth Story

Beauty

Each person comes to their own sense of what is beautiful and lovely.

I have created websites and online income since 1998. One of the first items I helped people find was custom framed art prints. More recently, in searching for what other options for wall décor were available, I could not find a website that provided folks with a more comprehensive list of wall décor choices. Many websites might cover one or two categories of wall décor. Few covered more. This lack gave birth to the idea for WallDecorOptions.com. I wanted to give people solutions that saved them time, hassle and - in many cases - money.

Our Interest

A personal need and interest also contributed to the creation of WallDecorOptions.com. My wife, our dog Beau and I moved into a “this old house”…a 1962 ranch style home with plenty of wall space. For our house, too, I wanted to know what wall décor options were “out there.” I wanted to know the major types of wall décor as well as more specific offerings within the types. These I present to you in WallDecorOptions.com.

Your Home

If you're at this site reading, it's probably because you have some interest in finding beauty for your walls. I have the main categories of wall decor in the links to your left. Each of those main pages has links at the bottom that take you to more specific offerings within that category of wall decor. You'll also notice that each page has ready-made searches for the specific kind of wall decor on that page.

Sense of Beauty

Each person comes to their own sense of what is beautiful and lovely. Nature, in particular inspires me. I love the colors, patterns and shapes found in a variety of creatures and natural items such as birds, butterflies, flowers, leaves, fish and more. I spent most of my childhood in Japan, the son of American parents. That experience, too, has impact on what resonates as beautiful for me.

Beauty in the Moment

On a sunny morning not too long ago, I was out in our back yard and saw a black swallowtail butterfly with incredible shimmering blue on top of its wings at the back end. It was flitting here and there on our lawn and sipping water droplets. I am a visual person and love to succinctly – like a photo snapshot – describe a visual moment in time by using the haiku form (remember Japan smiley). This is what I came up with:

Swallowtail ballet
Iridescent blue hindwings
Sipping lawn’s dew drops

I try to be intentional about noticing, paying attention to what is happening now because now is all we have. Haiku helps me in that intention to notice beauty and to build my sense of awe and wonder.

My Hope

My hope is that WallDecorOptions.com brings to you some of my sense of wonder and my love of beauty. To these, I’ve added my sense of adventure in the search and discovery of beautiful items for your walls. I hope you enjoy your experience at WallDecorOptions.com

"The cart before the horse is neither beautiful nor useful. Before we can adorn our houses with beautiful objects the walls must be stripped, and our lives must be stripped, and beautiful housekeeping and beautiful living laid for a foundation." - Henry David Thoreau

"The universal soul is the alone creator of the useful and the beautiful; therefore to make anything useful or beautiful, the individual must be submitted to the universal mind." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
