Companions to the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building, you find in Art Deco prints the sweeping curves and lines of a certain era. Bring some grandness into your living space.
The term "art deco" became a part of popular reference after Bevis - not of the animated television series
- Hillier's 1968 book Art Deco of the 20s and 30s. The phrase originally came from the International Exposition of Modern Industrial and Decorative Art (more properly Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes) in Paris in 1925 and, as the book's title suggests, was active mainly in the 1920's and 30's.
You will find design elements in Art Deco style include zigzag or stepped look, sweeping geometric lines and curves, some use of sunburst shapes and chevron motifs. In art the influential names in the Art Deco movement include Adolphe Mouron Cassandre , Erte and Tamara de Lempicka with bold colors and shimmering look.

You'd be hard pressed to escape the opulent look of Lempicka's art which is very popular. Shortly you'll be able to say without looking, "that's a Lempicka." Look for Barbier's works to exhibit more details rather than Lempicka's shimmering richness, although Barbier's colors will dress up your walls quite nicely. Bakst seem versatile with Art Deco works as well as almost Impressionistic pieces. You'll get a sense, too, from Bakst's Art Deco prints that you might be traveling on the Orient Express.
With slightly more than 400 samples, look through the AllPosters.com collection of Art Deco movement
