Gather plenty of ideas for your ceramic tile backsplash from these four excellent online sources we found. I show you where to find a good tile contractor as a bonus.
Ceramic tiles have the look and feel of pottery that many of us love so much.
From what I gather, your wall tiles fall into two main categories: individual or a group of tiles with a design or image on them and, second, "field" tiles, which are tiles of one color which serve as the filler or background on which the design tiles are placed. Ceramic tiles have the look and feel of pottery that many of us love so much.
When you're looking for a backsplash of ceramic tile but don't quite know exactly what, take a look at eBay. It's a great place to start generating ideas. Hey, you might even find something you love!
One of my favorite sources for ceramic tile is Jerusalem Pottery. As the name suggests, they are located in Jersalem...in fact on the Via Dolorosa. Admittedly they are sort of an exotic source a third of the way around the world from where I write. Yet their artwork and colors are just so majestic that it would be hard to leave them off the list. They do ship to the United States. Be sure to take a look at their pictures and ideas page that is full of ceramic tile backsplash examples.
Make sure you visit Pacifica Tile Art Studio. Even if you don't wind up with oneof their spectacular ceramic tile backsplash murals, your imagination will be juiced! If what you want is not someone else's canned art or imitation of masterpieces, they will create your one-of-a-kind mural with that favorite photo you meticulously composed in just the right lighting. Wow! Think of that as a cerasmic backsplash behind your stove. This studio provides tile in 4.5 and 6 inch squares. View their plentiful photos of installed murals.
If you don't find the mural of your dreams at Pacifica Tile Art and you're not of the mind to provide your own image, take a look at Murayah. Their tile is not ceramic. It is marble, but that may not make a difference to you and you might find just the right mural for your kitchen backsplash.
The National Tile Contractor Association is one place to start looking for a tile contractor. They've been around since 1947 and claim that members are the "most qualified" people in the industry. That may be, but checking references or testimonials is always a good idea.
